Catnip Kitty is an excellent Keeper of the Tools. A tool caddy is located in the back that holds scissors, thread, seam ripper and a needle threader (tools not included). You will be able to carry all the hard to find little tools in one hand and they will stay put! You can keep your thimble on the tip of the tail. The body is filled with sand, making a weighty pin cushion and needles can be kept stuck in the head without the worry of them disappearing into the body of the pin cushion. This is an easier project with fewer pattern parts. It can be completed in about 2 hours or less. It will make a great class project or secret pal gift!

1 and 1/3 cups of fine grade builder's sand or sand blasting sand. Play sand has little rocks in it and can dull pins. Softer, lighter weight fillers will not be satisfactory. Sand can be found at builder's supply stores and at craft stores. | |

Crazy Lap Chicken
(finished size, 10"X10"X10")
This chicken might look good on a sofa arm or porch swing, but don't let that fool you. This bird's entire purpose in life is to be held on a lap. You can make her crazy or from whole cloth. You can make her from any piecing block design you please! Just make three 10.5" X 10.5" blocks, use two for the body top and one for the underbody. You can paper piece her or "flip & sew" and then cut to the size of the paper patterns provided.
Included are the following to make one Crazy Lap Chicken: Detailed instructions, 3 pattern sheets for paper piecing (printed front and back so you don't go crazy), all the fancy glass beads needed for comb, wattles, and eyes, plus the wire and rope for the feet interior structure.
You will need to supply :
At least 6 fabrics (more is better) for the crazy piecing. Can be made from scraps at least 5" X 7" in size.
Fat quarter (18" X 21") for tail and underbody
If making from whole cloth, you will need 1/2 yard of fabric for the body and tail pieces.
10" X 12" fabric for the feet
6" X 6" fabric for the beak
2/3 yard of craft weight sew-in interfacing such as Ultra Firm by HTC® (27" wide).
High quality poly fill for stuffing
If making the chicken crazy style, you will need to supply all additional embellishments including trinkets and decorative threads.

Included are the following to make one Santa Mouse AND one Rudolph Mouse: eye beads, 2 tail wires, vinyl for 2 bases, 2 brass hanging rings, 1 Santa hat bell, whisker thread, pattern (including Santa hat pattern and antler pattern), and complete instructions.
You will need to supply : 1/4 of a fat quarter (9"x11") of fabric for each mouse, 4"x6" of red & white felt (for the Santa hat), 3"x4" brown or rust felt (for the reindeer antlers), poly-fill for stuffing, plus 6 nickels for each mouse's weighted base and starch to stiffen the antlers.
