Bag Structure Material
3 pieces per package, each piece 3.5" X 13.5"
This is a rigid but flexible vinyl material that I offer for bag construction. It adds strength and structure to bags and totes. The package contains three vinyl inserts, each 3.5" X 13.5". You can cut this vinyl with common scissors (not your sewing scissors!) to make it the right size for your project. Sew between lining and exterior at the top of the bag to improve bag structure. Tape pieces together to increase the width or length. Round all sharp points off with scissors. Make your bag bottom insert 1/4" smaller in width and in length than your bags outside measurements. Cover your insert with fabric to give a finished look to the bags interior. Complete instructions are included. |

This easy and fun bag project can be pieced or made from whole cloth. The pattern includes four pages of instructions and diagrams. Paper piecing patterns are also included for a stripped chevron design. The length of the handles can be altered and the finished length is adjustable by the placement of the side buttons so this bag will work for people of all sizes. The bag is easy to put on as the handles can be wrapped around the buttons after you put your arms through the handles and have the bag on your back. It can also be carried as a shoulder bag. A BONUS glasses case pattern is included that you can make from leftover fabric!

This is a great help for squaring up a large project with the embroidery hoop. I decided that I needed this tool when I embroidered a pieced quilt top. I did not want to hoop the pieced quilt top because I was afraid that it would be damaged by the hoop. I attached paper rectangular templates to the quilt top where I wanted to put the machine embroidery. I hooped the stabilizer and attached the hoop to the embroidery machine. I used this tool to square the templates with the embroidery hoop and then I attached the work to the hoop with a digitized basting rectangle that fit the template rectangle. |
