Crazy Lap Chicken

(finished size, 10"X10"X10")

This chicken might look good on a sofa arm or porch swing, but don't let that fool you! This bird's entire purpose in life is to be held on a lap. You can make her crazy or from whole cloth, or from any piecing block design you please! Just make three 10.5" X 10.5" blocks, using two for the body top and one for the underbody. You can paper piece her or "flip & sew" and then cut to the size of the paper patterns provided.

Included are detailed instructions, 3 pattern sheets for paper piecing (printed front and back so you don't go crazy), all the fancy glass beads needed for comb, wattles, and eyes, plus the wire and rope for the feet interior structure.

You will need to supply :

At least 6 fabrics (more is better) for the crazy piecing. Can be made from scraps at least 5" X 7" in size.

Fat quarter (18" X 21") for tail and underbody

If making from whole cloth, you will need 1/2 yard of fabric for the body and tail pieces.

10" X 12" fabric for the feet

6" X 6"fabric for the beak

2/3 yard of craft weight sew-in interfacing such as Ultra Firm 27" wide).

High quality poly fill for stuffing

If making the chicken crazy style, you will need to supply all additional embellishments including trinkets and decorative threads.
