Spirals and Crescents Pattern

Make two quilts from one pattern! Use this pattern to create your own version of Caryl Bryer Fallert's quilt. The
18" center applique can be cut from a painted or print fabric and appliqued to a square of black or dark painted fabric. This pattern may be used for either hand or machine applique. Instructions for machine applique are included.

Materials needed for one quilt:

One fat quarter yard of multicolored fabric

One fat quarter yard of black or very dark fabric

One half yard paper backed fusible web

One half yard or larger for backing fabric and optional hanging sleeve

One 18 or larger square of batting or fusible fleece

One fat quarter yard or more of black or colored fabric for the border

One long quarter yard of black or matching multicolored fabric for binding
